DOMESTIC INSTALLER Vs ELECTRICIAN

Domestic Installer

The key word is DOMESTIC, meaning that you are qualified to work on single phase electrical installations within a domestic dwelling. This includes; the installation of consumer units, socket and lighting circuits as well as completing initial verification upon installation. Also included in our course is a City & Guilds Electric Vehicle Charge Point qualification, with this you are also able to install EV charge points at domestic properties.

Electrician

There is a lot more that goes into qualifying as an electrician, it actually takes up-to 4 years. They are, however, able to work on more complex, three phase electrical systems in COMMERCIAL properties, this could be office buildings, factories and educational institutions. As well completing initial verification and electrician is able to complete periodic inspection and testing on all existing electrical installations. An electrician would still need to up-skill to install EV charge points at both domestic and commercial properties.
