Level 3 NVQ Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification: C&G 2346-03

The City & Guilds 2346-03 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (EWA) is designed for experienced electricians who have been working in the electrical industry for a minimum of five years but have not completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or achieved a Level 3 NVQ qualification. This qualification provides an industry-recognised route for practising Installation and Maintenance Electricians to gain formal recognition of their skills, knowledge and competence. It enables experienced workers to demonstrate their ability to carry out electrical installation, inspection, testing, fault finding, maintenance and commissioning activities in accordance with the current edition of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and industry standards. The Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) is not an in-centre training course. Instead, it is a competency-based assessment process that allows experienced electricians to evidence their existing skills through a combination of workplace evidence, assessor observations, professional discussions and an online portfolio. Successful completion of the City & Guilds 2346-03 qualification, together with the AM2E assessment, provides a recognised pathway to ECS Gold Card and JIB Gold Card status, helping electricians meet the requirements of employers, Competent Person Schemes, Approved Contractor registration and the wider electrotechnical industry. This qualification is suitable for employed and self-employed electricians who have extensive practical experience across domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations and are looking to achieve Qualified Electrician Status through the Experienced Worker Route.
